The University awarded a contract for NordicNeuroLab, Inc.
NordicMEDiVA is a complete software platform designed for processing and analyzing MRI images of the brain. Building upon over 20 years of expertise in the clinical perfusion & functional MRI (fMRI) market, it offers advanced features such as automatic data processing, real-time collaboration, and a web-based viewer, aiming to streamline workflows and enhance diagnostic accuracy.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical at a university-operated health care center or dispensary that provides care, treatment, and medications for students, faculty and staff (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) No upgrades are available for the existing software or hardware. Without implementation of the new software, the hospital will be unable to perform brain MRI scans requiring perfusion and functional post-processing. As a result, patients will be referred to outside facilities, leading to loss of clinical capability and associated revenue.
