The University awarded a contract for Patient Account Collection Services.
This agency provides specialized support in resolving medical necessity and authorization denials to help ensure compliance with payer requirements. It also conducts thorough reviews of corrected claims and coding to promote accurate reimbursement and minimize revenue loss. The vendor is paid on a contingent rate which is only paid when the vendor collects on accounts owed the University. In that regard, the vendor is paid directly by the fees it generates from the activity it performs.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for events or activities paid for exclusively by revenues generated by the event or activity, gifts, or donations for the event or activity, private grants, or any combination thereof.
