The University awarded a contract for Optical Strain Measurement System.
ARAMIS 12M Adjustable optical strain measurement system, including ZEISS Correlate Pro Line software, 7780 laptop computer, installation, and training to enhance research and expand bone and soft tissue testing capabilities through the integration of a 3D DIC system.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) ARAMIS has the potential to significantly reduce testing time, improve measurement accuracy, and enhance data reliability, ultimately contributing to substantial cost savings.
