The University awarded a contract for the NeuroBlate System.
The NeuroBlate System is the only minimally invasive, robotic, laser thermotherapy tool that uses MRI-guided surgical ablation technology designed specifically for use in the brain. NeuroBlate provides precise and maximal tumor reduction for patients without the invasiveness of an open neurosurgical procedure. The NeuroBlate System consists of a capital component as well as disposable items used in the MRI-guided ablative procedure.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) Monteris is providing a significant discount of nearly 40% off the list price of the NeuroBlate system. Monteris also extended the one-time $50,000 2022 Q4 discount to 2023.
