The University awarded a contract for a Registered Dietitian and Social Worker.
The Dietitian will counsel both patients and families of these clinics on nutritional management of their conditions and preventative steps. The Social Worker will support patients, families and providers in the University Pediatric Clinic, and will be called upon as needed. Needs, times and clinic types or patients that need help will dictate the role of the social worker.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) The price is based off of benefits and salary for a registered dietitian and social worker within OSF Healthcare.
