The University awarded a contract for Service agreement for laboratory equipment.
This purchase is for a service agreement for Mass Spectrometry Core laboratory equipment. The equipment includes a high speed pump, a high resolution mass spectrometer, a diode array detector, a multisampler, and an isocratic pump.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) The Mass Spectrometry Core at UIC enables education, methods development, and new application development, designed to meet the fast-pace needs of researchers. The equipment is used in the Mass Spectrometry Core to provide services to research studies. The equipment requires annual maintenance to ensure usage for the life of the equipment and continued services for the laboratory.
