The University awarded a contract for Nanoscale Radiaitve-Conductive Measurement Setup.
Customized Experimental Setups for nanoscale thermal measurements. There are two main highly-customized setups. The first is a Nanoscale Radiaitve-Conductive Measurement Setup which includes a customized vacuum chamber, electrical feedthroughs, gas pressure controllers and sensors, high-vacuum pumping and purging system, nanopositioner stages with their customized controllers. The second is a Nanoscale electron emission setup which includes a modular cleanroom tent to host the setups, customized four-probe cryostage, electronic instruments such as lock-in amplifier, capacitance sensors, high-power Coherent laser and chiller, laser fiber source, and sourcemeters that are connected and synced together.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for contracts between the State and governments 30 ILCS 500/1-10 (b)(1) The items in this procurement will enable UIC to set up the lab quickly and cost-effectively using the customized experimental setups developed at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln .
