The University awarded a contract for Edthina.
Edthina is a subscription for student teachers to review their classroom instruction so they can reflect and see areas where they can improve their instruction. It streamlines professional development for undergraduate College of Education students, leveraging classroom videos for reflection and best practices while these students complete their fieldwork requirements.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for periodicals, books, subscriptions, database licenses, and other publications procured for use by a university library or academic department, except for expenditures related to procuring textbooks for student use or materials for resale or rental. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(5)) Edthena provides professional development for our undergraduate students, leveraging classroom videos for reflection and best practices. In addition, Edthena provides video coaching to enhance professional learning, boost teacher retention, and improve student outcomes.
