The University awarded a contract for auxiliary arms and surgical monitors.
This purchase is for four auxiliary arms and surgical monitors. The auxiliary arms will automatically maintain constant light intensity to ensure excellent color, contrast, clarity, and control during procedures. The monitors will provide incredibly bright detail, color, and contrast that will allow physicians to appreciate more anatomical details than ever before.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) The addition of surgical monitors to two additional OR's will allow flexibility for more service lines to utilize these rooms for surgery. This provides the latest technology and the safest care to our patients.
