The University awarded a contract for solis pain medication infusion pumps.
This exemption is for the purchase of Continuous Ambulatory Delivery Device Solis pain medication infusion pumps, as well as associated software implementation and annual software fees. CADD pumps are used for pain management by the Anesthesia team. A state-of-the-art, smart pain management system that meets industry recognized standards for advanced error-reduction features in Patient-Controlled Analgesia pumps. The CADD-Solis infusion pump is designed to deliver medication across the continuum of care, covering both acute and outpatient settings.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical at a university-operated health care center or dispensary that provides care, treatment, and medications for students, faculty and staff (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) These pumps are used for direct patient care.
