The University awarded a contract for ScrubEx scrub dispensing machines.
ScrubEx scrub dispensing machines are critical to maintaining sterile environments in surgical and procedural areas. These machines are essential to ensure that staff in Labor and Delivery and Interventional Radiology have timely access to clean, laundered scrubs, which are required for performing surgeries and other life-saving procedures.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical at a university-operated health care center or dispensary that provides care, treatment, and medications for students, faculty and staff (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) These machines are necessary for the effective use of scrubs.
