The University awarded a contract for server room cooling units.
This exemption is for the installation of two Vertiv 6 ton Ceiling Radiation Dampers and containment curtains in the cold isle in our server room that supports critical research infrastructure.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) These cooling units are necessary for the infastructure of critical research.
