The University awarded a contract for medical devices and infection control supplies.
Healthmark Industries provides medical devices and infection control supplies used in the decontamination of medical supplies and instruments. In addition, they offer chemical-resistant protective equipment to safeguard staff from the chemicals used during the decontamination process. Typical supplies include cleaning verification products, cleaning chemistries, protective equipment, labeling and signage, instrument care products, sterilization products, instrument trays, and security products.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical at a university-operated health care center or dispensary that provides care, treatment, and medications for students, faculty and staff (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) These are medical supplies for direct patient care.
