The University awarded a contract for biostatistical analysis of research data.
Jane Burke-Miller will provide biostatistical analysis of research data for the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Health and Function Among People with Serious Mental Health Conditions grant. Services include conducting advanced multivariable statistical analyses of national longitudal data on outcomes, services and costs of integrated care for people with schizoprenia, bipolar disorder and major depression.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) Conducting this research will put the University at the forefront of the field of psychiatric disability research. UIC will be one of the few institutions of higher eduction studying how to provide mental health care that is integrated with primary care.
