Aspen Learning Library subscription (digital books)
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for periodicals, books, subscriptions, database licenses, and other publications procured for use by a university library or academic department, except for expenditures related to procuring textbooks for student use or materials for resale or rental. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(5)) The Aspen Learning Library is a digital book and content platform that provides UIC School of Law students access to subject-based study aids from a variety of valuable series, including Examples & Explanations, Emanuel Law Outlines, Glannon Guides, and Casenote Legal Briefs. The digital format provides the benefits of remote and concurrent student access to the content.
