The University awarded a contract for Fujifilm Therapeutic Double Balloon Endoscope.
Fujifilm Therapeutic Double Balloon Endoscope, which is a large working channel imaging double balloon endoscope used to diagnose and treat the small bowel.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical at a university-operated health care center or dispensary that provides care, treatment, and medications for students, faculty and staff (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) UI Health negotiated a price that was discounted higher that the Chicago industry standard for the ?gold standard? DBE system. The Hospital received an additional 10% discount which is the highest seen in this market.
