The University awarded a contract for the C-Arm OEC Elite Surgical Imaging System.
C-Arm OEC Elite Surgical Imaging is suited for a range of surgical needs including Orthopedics, Gastrointestinal, Endoscopic, Urologic, Critical Care, Emergency, and Vascular procedures.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) This will replace the old equipment, used in Operating Room for surgery, which has frequent service issues. We have the same equipment in the department so there will be very minimum learning curve for the technologists to operate the equipment.
