The University awarded a contract for dental implants.
Dental implants and other restorative/prosthetic components required for use in the various dental clinics for patients at the UIC College of dentistry.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) Straumann offers a wide range of therapies and solutions needed to meet patient needs without which we would not be able to meet the extensive range of care we are called on to provide. The procurement is in the best interest of the University given the quality products used for patient care and educational purposes.
