The University awarded a contract for online learning courses.
Bugbear Creative will create nine online learning courses. The College of Education's Educational Psychology Program received a gift to create pathways and products for Early Educators. Part of this gift is to create nine online learning courses based on scripts provided by Early Science Matters.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for events or activities paid for exclusively by revenues generated by the event or activity, gifts, or donations for the event or activity, private grants, or any combination thereof. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(2)) New early science professional development (PD) courses will allow early childhood educators across the nation to have excellent quality early science PD., especially those that are the most disenfranchised from our educational system such as family child care providers and center based early childhood teachers, who often do not have the time, access or funds to attend PD. The College of Education's Educational Psychology Program received a gift to create pathways and products for Early Educators, part of the gift was to fund the development of Early Science Matters, online free access professional development program for early childhood teachers.
