Online subscription to newsfeed, broadcast, and engage social media monitoring services to monitor UIC in the media.

This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for periodicals, books, subscriptions, database licenses, and other publications procured for use by a university library or academic department, except for expenditures related to procuring textbooks for student use or materials for resale or rental. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(5)) Meltwater is a media and social media intelligence company that gives the University the ability to track digital, broadcast, and social media coverage year-over-year, collecting data for analytics integrated in one platform; to access continuously updated news media and social media influencers and outlets with current contact information and search-able content; to archive coverage and provide a data-driven approach to engagement; to share our coverage through email newsletters and a website newsfeed; and to provide scheduled and instant notification reports for positive and negative coverage.
