The University awarded a contract for a HemoSphere monitoring platform.
HemoSphere monitoring platform has advanced hemodynamic parameters for Swan Ganz catheter, FloTrac sensor and ForeSight cerebral tissue oximetry all in 1 platform for cardiac and high-risk surgery.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) These monitors are vital to the continuity of anesthesia care in the OR and ICU. The new hemodynamic monitors will replace the Vigilance 2 devices that are obsolete and no longer in use. Edwards Lifesciences is offering a trade in value for the old units.
