Announcement of an Exempt Purchase

The purchase is for the Teamworks Elite Package, including Hub, Compliance, Academics, Influencer and General Manager (GM) Base, Teamworks Wallet and AMS Base Modules for UIC Athletics. Teamworks software will provide the entire UIC athletic department with a central, organizational platform to handle scheduling, forms, compliance, athletic training, academics, databases, file sharing and revenue sharing/NIL payments to student-athletes.

This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for events or activities paid for exclusively by revenues generated by the event or activity, gifts, or donations for the event or activity, private grants, or any combination thereof. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(2)) The all-encompassing services that Teamworks provides includes all aspects of calendaring, scheduling, file sharing, etc. in one platform that no other company can provide. We would need multiple vendors to cover all of the separate areas that Teamworks provides. This method would not be cost effective or viable to teach each faculty and staff in the department multiple platforms. We would continue to increase our exposure to human-error with the recording of information manually and will not be able to take advantage of the software enhancements to the student-athlete experience at UIC.
