The University awarded a contract for Bilingual Community Health Workers.
To provide bilingual Community Health Workers in the Gage Park and West Elsdon neighborhoods. Envision Community Services will collaborate with the Healthcare Transformation Collaborative to improve healthcare delivery, focusing on the specific needs of these communities.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) This procurement is in the best interests of the University because it enables us to support and collaborate with a small Latino Community-Based Organization in an underserved area. This partnership will enhance the University's presence and involvement in local communities in Chicago, fostering stronger community relations and addressing local health equity issues.
