The University awarded a contract for Organ transport pump.
Organ transport pump specifically designed to preserve liver viability during transportation for transplant procedures.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical at a university-operated health care center or dispensary that provides care, treatment, and medications for students, faculty and staff (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) This procurement is in the best interests of the University because OrganOx's technology significantly extends the viable time for liver organs awaiting transplant. This advancement enables the University to receive liver transplants from greater distances, directly supporting our mission to provide safe, high-quality transplant care for our patients.
