The University awarded a contract for Consulting Services.
The Illinois Public Health Institute (IPHI) will serve as Implementation Support for Illinois Department of Public Healths (IDPH) State Health Improvement Plan (SHIP) Implementation project. As Implementation Support IPHI will assemble implementation teams, support the SHIP Implementation plan review, engage partnerships, manage operations, and produce an annual report.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for events or activities paid for exclusively by revenues generated by the event or activity, gifts, or donations for the event or activity, private grants, or any combination thereof. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(2)) This project aligns with UIC's mission as a public research university, emphasizing civic engagement, healthcare improvement, and the application of academic knowledge to real-world challenges. It will significantly contribute to UIC's standing as a leading institution in healthcare delivery design and organizational transformation. If the exemption is not approved, the Institute for Healthcare Delivery Design (IHDD) will miss out on opportunities to work with the state on projects, resulting in a loss of revenue.
