ISMS is the principal statewide professional organization representing physicians in Illinois and serves as a critical resource for advocacy, regulatory guidance, clinical practice support, and professional engagement. Illinois State Medical Society (ISMS) 2026 annual dues for group membership for College of Medicine physicians. This covers up to 1800 physicians inclusive of all three campuses. Membership in ISMS is essential to fulfilling the Universitys public mission as a state-supported academic medical institution.

This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for membership in professional, academic, research, or athletic organizations on behalf of a public institution of higher education, an employee of a public institution of higher education, or a student at a public institution of higher education. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(1)) The individual membership would be a lot more expensive without group membership.
