Addendum 01 supplements and amends the project manual and the drawings and shall be taken into account in preparing this proposal and shall become a part of the contract documents. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum by listing the number and date, where provided, on the bid form (document provided by the contractor.) This Addendum updates specification and drawing information, only, and does not alter the previously published bid date(s).

Project Description
The project replaces elevators in the following buildings: Everitt Laboratory Hall (0037): Replaces the only hydraulic elevator in the building. Project will include full modernization, including new machine, new cab, new doors, and new controls, with capacity upgraded to C3 and relocation of machine room to the basement. Elevator may remain hydraulic with existing jack in service. Engineering Sciences Building (0174): Replaces existing duplex Elevator 2 and Elevator 3 which are overhead traction. Project will include full modernization, including new machine, new cab, new doors, new controls, new overhead traction with Permanent Magnet Gearless machines. Elevator 2 to be C3 rated and be provided with inconspicuous riser to permit maintenance to call the C3 for heavy loads.

MANDATORY virtual pre-bid conferences for all parties interested in bidding the project will be held at 10:00 AM on 5/06/2025 through Zoom call-in 312-626-6799 Meeting ID: 835 5743 8450 Password: 1867. AND 10:00 AM on 5/13/2025 through Zoom call-in 312-626-6799 Meeting ID: 812 9463 9773 Password: 1867. Bidders only need to attend one of the mandatory pre-bid conferences available. Site Visits: NONMANDATORY site visits will be on 05/14/2025 at 12:00 pm starting at Everitt Lab 1406 W. Green St., Urbana, IL at noon. Please confirm your attendance beforehand with Project Manager Muhammad Hanzla Rafaqat, rafaqat2@illinois.edu, 217-954-3346. Representatives of the Owner and the Professional Services Consultant will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures.
