This Addendum 01 supplements the original Request for Professional Services Qualifications and shall be taken into account when preparing the Professional Services Consultant Submittal. This Addendum provides information regarding a previously completed Conceptualization study for the Critical Decision Unit (CDU) portion of the project and does not alter the previously published Qualifications Submittal due date.

Project Description
UIC is accepting statements of qualifications for two projects that will expand the ability of the hospital to provide quality health care for the community a Cancer Care Center to be located in a remodeled north tower of the existing Outpatient Care Center and a Critical Decision Unit to be constructed as an addition to the existing hospital on the Southeast plaza. The Critical Decision Unit is expected to achieve LEED Gold accreditation and be Net-Zero ready. Funding has been approved for design work through Schematic Design, with the expectation that the project will develop a scope of work and budget for the projects. The Schematic Designs will be then used to secure funding approval for subsequent construction. The Conceptualization and Schematic Design Phases will determine the building design and will confirm the construction budget for the project, used to apply for a Certificate of Need, and to secure funding approval for subsequent construction. After a successful Conceptualization and Schematic Phase, and following the University Board of Trustees approval, the Professional Services Consultant may be authorized to proceed with ensuing phase(s) of Design Development documents, Bid documents, Bid/Award, Construction Administration, and Warranty. One firm will be selected for both projects, and it is expected that the successful firm will allocate separate teams for each project.
