Announcement of an Exempt Purchase

Deliverables provide tangible evidence of design progress, and ultimately support regulatory submissions, product manufacturing and support activities. Progress against the deliverables will be reviewed within the project and written confirmation of the deliverables obtained before closing the statement of work.

This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) There will be additional tasks centered around the FDA meeting and potentially modified based on collaborative input and project constraints to meet overall objectives. This is exempt per (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)).
