The University awarded a contract for Oscilloscope for Continuing Research.
In order to not skew research data the real time oscilloscope from Tektronix with 25 GHz bandwidth and 100 GS/s sampling rate is suitable for continuing research.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) The oscilloscope will be used with an instrument from High Power Pulse Instruments (HPPI) that produces very-short duration pulses. The TLP-3010C includes a driver for the Tektronix DPO72504SX oscilloscope therefore, the requested oscilloscope is compatible with the researcher's existing hardware. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8))
